The sucking reflex is completely normal in children and many children develop habits. It's OK! Many habits will stop naturally between ages 2 and 4 years. For those that don't, here are some ways to encourage your child to stop their pacifier habit.

The quickest way! It can be tough, but it can also be the fastest way to be done! Make sure to find them all...they can be hidden in lots of places.

Trade out the binky for a new toy!! Who doesn't love something new?​

FINGER HABITS?

Reminder therapy is used to "remind" children to not do their habit. But most of all, positive reinforcement works the best for these habits! See below for more helpful tips. â€‹

Mavala Stop

It tastes icky! But if you paint it on your child's thumb or finger, they will get one taste and be done.

Band-Aids

Let your child pick out fun band-aids to put on their thumb or finger! Then when they go to suck, they will see their new band-aid instead.

Gloves or Socks

Pick out some cute ones to wear...another great accessory to remind you to stop the habit! This also works great when they are sleeping!
